How to use it
Adds a second point to the first; clause 2 often has 도. Nouns: N뿐만 아니라. Past: -았/었을 뿐만 아니라.
Forming it
| 싸다 | → 쌀 뿐만 아니라 |
| 맛있다 | → 맛있을 뿐만 아니라 |
| 춥다 | → 추울 뿐만 아니라 |
| 노래 | → 노래뿐만 아니라 |
Both points should go in the same direction (both good or both bad).
Examples
이 식당은 음식이 맛있을 뿐만 아니라 값도 싸요.
This restaurant not only has delicious food but is also cheap.
그 가수는 노래뿐만 아니라 춤도 잘 춰요.
That singer is good not only at singing but also at dancing.
Compared with similar patterns
-(으)ㄴ/는 데다(가) is more colloquial ('on top of that'). -(으)ㄹ뿐더러 is written style. N은/는 물론 means 'N, of course, and also'.
